New Creation Counseling Center is excited to announce our workshop, "Couples Counseling Techniques, Strategies, and Other Considerations".

This workshop is free and open to the public.

3 CEUs from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board are available for a fee of $15.

Couples counseling can feel like both an exciting and daunting endeavor for a mental health provider. Many of us have a passion for facilitating healing in our clients' relationships, as well as a love for family systems theory. But those therapeutic issues that differentiate couples counseling from individual treatment can sometimes leave us feeling ill-equipped to provide effective care.

In this three-hour workshop hosted by New Creation Counseling Center, presenters John Jung and Charles Roberts will give a lecture and host a discussion on important issues in couples counseling such as the role of dynamics in a family, balancing power in therapy sessions, the value of homework for couples, and effective interventions for working with couples.

As always, the workshop is free and open to anyone interested in attending. For mental health providers 3 Continuing Education Units from the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board are available for a fee of $15.

Presenter: John Jung, LPCC-S

John served as the Director of New Creation from 1995 to 2017. John formerly was the Executive Director of the Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services, and had been manager of mental health services for the Montgomery Co. ADAMHS Board. John also gives consultation about pastoral care and counseling for Ginghamsburg Church. John has been in the field of mental health since 1973.

Presenter: Charles Roberts, LPCC-S

Charles is New Creation Counseling Center's Clinical Director. Trained in both EMDR and Brainspotting, he specializes in treating trauma and PTSD. Charles is currently completing training to become a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) as well as a Developmental and Relational Trauma Therapist (DRTT). He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
