The Art and Science of Forgiveness

New Creation Counseling Center is excited to announce our upcoming workshop, "The Art and Science of Forgiveness".

This workshop is free and open to the public.

3 CEUs from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board are available for a fee of $30.

The issue of forgiveness is universal. It is not just an issue for counselors, nor is it only important because of its spiritual or religious aspects. What do you think of when we use the word, "Forgiveness"?

Does it make you think of weakness or surrender?
Do those who forgive do so simply to avoid conflict?
Is forgiveness a quick and easy way out of confrontation of real issues?
Does forgiveness mean that the offense was not important or significant, or even real?
Should all offenses be forgiven?

In this workshop from New Creation Counseling Center, our former director John Jung will share his expertise on the subject of forgiveness, developed through years of teaching on forgiveness from both a clinical and spiritual perspective. The workshop will cover topics such as dimensions of forgiveness, intra-personal aspects of forgiveness, applications of forgiveness in counseling, and specific techniques used with clients working on forgiveness.

Presenter: John Jung

John Jung, LPCC-S, served as the Director of New Creation Counseling Center from 1995 to 2017. He formerly was the Executive Director of the Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services, and had been manager of mental health services for the Montgomery Co. ADAMHS Board. John also gives consultation about pastoral care and counseling for Ginghamsburg Church. John has been in the field of mental health since 1973.
