Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder Through the Autism Diagnostic Observational Schedule, 2nd Edition

New Creation Counseling Center is excited to announce our upcoming workshop, "Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder Through the Autism Diagnostic Observational Schedule, 2nd Edition".

This workshop is free and open to the public.

6 CEUs from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board are available for a fee of $60.

This full-day workshop will use the structure of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd Edition (ADOS-2) to provide a framework for understanding autism spectrum disorder. The ADOS-2 is one of the gold standard instruments used for making a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder for children and adults.

Presenter Sandra Todd, PsyD, will conduct a live demonstration of administration of the ADOS-2 with a typically developing child. Workshop participants will also have the opportunity to observe a video-taped administration of the ADOS-2 to a child on the autism spectrum while the presenter facilitates the participants' observations of the core features of autism.

The workshop will also present information regarding differential and co-morbid diagnoses and positive prognostic indicators for autism spectrum disorder. Common features of the evidence-supported treatments for autism will also be discussed.

As always, the workshop is free and open to anyone interested in attending.  For mental health providers 6 Continuing Education Units from the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board are available for a fee of $60.

Presenter: Sandra Todd, PsyD, ABPP

Dr. Todd has more than 20 years of experience treating individuals and families.  She earned her doctorate from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1997.  She is board certified in clinical psychology and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Boston Children’s Hospital.  In addition to her work at New Creation Counseling Center, she is on staff at Dayton Children’s Hospital.  Areas of expertise include behavior change, anxiety, depression, trauma, developmental disorders, communication, and relationship enhancement.
