What can I expect in a counseling session?

A session usually lasts 45- 50 minutes a clincial hour. Between sessions, clients are encouraged to think about and process what was discussed. At times, you may be asked to do something specific outside of the therapy sessions, such as reading a relevant book or keeping records. For the therapy to "work," you must be an active participant, both during and between the therapy sessions.

What benefits can I expect from working with a counselor?

A number of benefits are available from participating. Often it is helpful just to know that someone understands. Counseling can provide a fresh perspective on a difficult problem or point you in the direction of a solution. The benefits you obtain from counseling depend on how well you use the process and put into practice what you learn.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! Most of our licensed counselors are on a variety of insurance panels as well as several Employee Assistance Programs.  Call your mental health insurance "800" number to find out more.  We now accept CareSource and Molina.

What is the cost of counseling?

Charges are based on the amount of time spent with the licensed professional counselor, social worker or marriage and family therapist.  A "clinical hour" is usually 45-55 minutes.  If uninsured, you may qualify for reduced cost for your professional counseling.

Do you have appointments after 5pm or on weekends?

Yes, New Creation Counseling Center holds contracts with licensed professional counselors who set their own hours.  Several of our counselors are available after 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Christian counseling?

Yes, all of our counselors read and accept our Covenant and Doctrinal Statement when they contract with us.  All of our counselors are church members and have a relationship with Jesus Christ.  You can expect professional counseling with a Biblical perspective. You may request prayer or scripture to enhance your counseling experience.  

We also provide services to anyone with any spiritual belief system or background without hesistation and work with clients based on their spiritual beliefs not ours.
